A building by a maker, for makers. Fabrica started with a simple question: where do you work in Eindhoven if you make things?
Fabrica is an initiative of Jasper van Grootel, founder of JSPR. JSPR designs and makes lighting and interiors, from its own collections to hotel projects.
Looking for a place to make things in Eindhoven, you mostly find offices. A workshop with three-phase power, room for machines and neighbours who make things too is hard to come by. That is why Jasper is converting the building on Hastelweg into a building for exactly that kind of business.
The existing building is being completely transformed to a design by Kragt: plenty of daylight, open sightlines and a strong link between inside and outside. Building on the existing structure saves materials and has a much smaller impact than building new.
JSPR works at Fabrica too. The lighting in the building comes from JSPR's own collection.
